Hi AsterCrash,

Thank you for posting in our Community. Let’s work together to get this resolved. Since you’ve mentioned that you’re running on high default settings with Intel® XeSS set to quality mode, I’d like to gather a few more details to narrow down the root cause:

  • Are you playing via Battle.net or Steam, and is the game updated to the latest patch?
  • Are you using a single monitor or multiple monitors? If multiple, does the issue occur on all displays?
  • Have you tried enabling V-Sync or setting a frame rate cap to see if this reduces tearing?
  • When the game crashes, do you see any specific error messages or codes, or does it close abruptly?
  • Do you notice similar issues (tearing, crashes, stuttering) in other games, or is this isolated to Overwatch 2?

Additionally, if you have done any other tests, please let me know the details so we don't cover the same ground twice.

Have a nice day!

I'm playing on Steam.
Only on one monitor.
I've already capped the frame rate at my monitor, which is 144Hz.
I haven't noticed it since crashes don't happen very often.
Well, in that regard, there are some games where I've been experiencing a lot of stuttering, like Uncharted 4, Need for Speed Heat, Deathloop, and Overwatch 2.

Hello AsterCrash,

Thank you for sharing the additional details about your setup and the games where you’ve noticed stuttering. We’ve received multiple reports from players experiencing similar behavior, such as significant stuttering, low FPS, and overall performance degradation in Overwatch 2. These issues have been observed in both DirectX 11 and DirectX 12, with some players noting slightly better stability on DX11. In some cases, FPS has dropped drastically after driver updates or since the release of the latest season update, even with graphics settings lowered.

At this point, I’ll need to conduct additional research on this matter. Rest assured, I’ll provide an update in this thread once I have more information to share.

Hello AsterCrash,

Thank you for your patience. To help us isolate the issue further, could you please confirm the following details?

  • Have you already performed a clean driver reinstallation using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller)?
  • Is Resizable BAR (ReBAR) enabled on your system?
  • Does the issue occur throughout the game, including the main menu, or only in specific areas while playing?

Your answers will help us narrow down the root cause and proceed with the best next steps

Yes, whenever I update to a new driver.
Yes, it is activated.
But during matches, I've noticed that sometimes it takes a while to load the characters on the selection screen once you enter the match, but the small freezes are very quick when there are a lot of effects on the screen, like in team fights.

Hello AsterCrash,

Thank you for confirming. From your description, the issue appears to occur mostly during character loading on the selection screen and in matches with heavy visual effects, such as team fights. These brief freezes may be linked to how the game engine manages asset loading and rendering under high graphical demand, rather than a driver installation concern.

I’ll continue looking into this and will share an update in this thread as soon as I have more information.

Hello AsterCrash,

Thank you for your patience while I investigated your report regarding the FPS drops and stuttering issues in Overwatch 2. I conducted a test using both the B580 and the RTX 4060 graphics cards. Interestingly, both GPUs produced similar results, and in fact, the B580 showed slightly better performance compared to the RTX 4060. During testing, I also observed that the RTX 4060 experienced more noticeable stuttering. Based on these findings, it appears that the issue is likely related to the game itself rather than the hardware. I also found multiple reports from other users experiencing similar issues with Overwatch 2 across various GPUs:

Overwatch 2 Has Major FPS Drop Issues on High-End Systems – Completely Unplayable : r/Overwatch

Overwatch 2 Has Major FPS Drop Issues on High-End Systems - Technical Support - Overwatch Forums

As the issue seems to stem from the game itself, I recommend reaching out directly to Blizzard Support for further assistance. You can contact them using the link: Get Help - Blizzard Support.

I also attached the related test files and references for your review. Since this appears to be a game-side issue, I’ll be closing this case for now. However, if you need further assistance, please submit a new question as this thread will no longer be monitored.
