Help On Event Offset

Hi ,
We know that every event has EventOffset variable.
it has some data relating to that event.

Actually we want to know what it is, what it conveys in understanding the event.
How we have to link with other variables like sensor type, event type, entity and etc.

If any one knows about this, please provide the information.
