Can someone tell me if Active Directory is required for SCS 5 to be installed? The documentation states that it is "optional" but several threads say that it is required.

Active Directory is optional with SCS.
Please refer to the SCS Intallation Guide,in the section "About Configuring Active Directory" to see the situations where you would need to use Active Directory.

Ihave SCS 5.0 installed and integrated with AD and I can say thatintegration process isnot dificult(creation ofIntel AMT objects in ADand ADusers and so on) and it representsmanybenefits.
