The remote connection is always getting disconnected every few seconds and then unable to install any vscode related extensions in it ... unable to sudo install anything or even apt install anything no extensions getting enabled in vscode too only the ssh shell exists thats it and also the ipynb notebooks are also not opening unable to open even readme.md file in this thing the documentation is very very unclear... please fix this issue and if possible give me a small solution to this thing as of now nothing works in this devcloud version in vscode

Hi,

Thank you for posting in Intel Communities.

We were able to connect to DevCloud from VSCode without any issues by following the instructions in the below link.

link: https://devcloud.intel.com/oneapi/documentation/connect-with-vscode/

>>"unable to sudo install anything or even apt install anything"

Sorry to say this but there are no sudo/root privileges available on DevCloud (i.e you can not install any pkg using the sudo command)

>>"the ipynb notebooks are also not opening unable to open even readme.md file"

We can open notebooks but we can't run them, attaching a screenshot for your reference.

This is a known issue not related to the intel, please go through the below link for more information.

link: https://github.com/microsoft/vscode-jupyter/issues/612#issuecomment-691625412

Note:

The workaround is accessing Jupyter Lab with the below link:

https://jupyter.oneapi.devcloud.intel.com/

>>"The remote connection is always getting disconnected every few seconds"

Could you please try again? connecting to DevCloud, this could happen when there is a network issue.

If this resolves your issue, make sure to accept this as a solution. This would help others with similar issues. Thank you!

Thanks,

Jaideep
