Error Driver Openvino Procedure Entry Point

Hello,

I'm constantly having an error popping up, telling me that 'the procedure entry point could not be located' for the HP diagnostic programm. The error is indicating a failure in the driver for Openvino apparently, see picture.

I have tested my updates for Windows, everything is updated. I found the link for the driver for Openvino but I'm afraid to download and install it, not sure whether I'm having the correct driver for my processor.

In the hardware listing it says that the driver is for Intel Core Ultra, but I doubt whether mine is an Ultra.

My specs say 'Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700T CPU @ 2.00GHz 1.99 GHz', and my pc is working on Windows 11  23H2.

Is this page for Openvino the correct one for my processor or will I ruin my system with this driver when I install it? Intel® NPU Driver - Windows*

Thanks for advice and help!

Hi Helga63,

Thanks for reaching out.

Yes, it is the correct NPU driver for OpenVINO. However, your system is not supported by the NPU plugin. The supported platform is only Intel® Core™ Ultra (former Meteor Lake). Check the details in NPU Device.

I thought so already, hence my check.

So I will have to continue trying to find out how I can repair this error for the Intel processor in another way, I guess...

Or could I just delete this driver and will it automatically reinstall the correct one again?

Hi Helga,

You must use the Intel® Core™ Ultra (former Meteor Lake) system to install the NPU plugin.

Hi Aznie, thanks, but I can't because I  don't have the correct processor version, it's not an Ultra. So it won't work for my processor, if I understand correctly.

Issue not resolved with the updates for my Graphic card. Guess I'll have to deal with this error and just ignore it.

Hi Helga63,

This issue occurs when an old ze_loader library is installed on the host. In that case, zeInit will not fail as the plugin expects when there is no NPU device in the system. The plugin continues and queries other info from the driver and eventually fails in zeGetExtensionFunctionAddress with the error you observed.

The workaround is to update the GPU driver to the latest version (this will update the ze_loader version as well) since there have been fixes made in the loader logic to manage multiple user mode drivers.

Hi Munesh,

Thank you for coming back to me. I did an update for my Nvidia Graphics Card, let's see if that works. For now, but it's only one day, no errors that have popped up.
