Will the SDK support this ARM platform (Odroid XU4) wich has quite more power than raspberry, and USB 3) ?
That would really be great !

Hello,
you can try to use SDK for Rpi3 which is available for download. Although both architectures are not similar ARM's there is a chance for success. Also you can refer to discussion

for additional info and guidelines.

I give it a short try on my XU4 , loaded ubuntu 16.04 with the 4.9 kernel and other stuff…and then I got stucked into drivers issues with the v4l2 and gstreamer opengl incompatibilities (glimagesink)….. Life is too short to try debugging a MALI GPU …
I think its a good idea that MOVIDIUS selected the RPI, its a good community with lots of support and an Intel division will not get into supporting ARM processors anyway.
Other embedded options could be the Intel based UP boards.

thanks for the info.
I agree Raspberry is a great platform with a very large community and this is really nice !
Still I would love to have it working on XU4 when I get my ncs planned in November so far… Intel guys, you still have time to port the SDK while factory do some silicium production :-)
XU4 has the advantage of more power, and also the guarantee production of the board up to 2019, which can be nice for some projects.

Well, that gives you plenty of time to make the gstreamer working with glimagesink on the ODROID XU4 MALI GPU
https://github.com/GStreamer/gst-plugins-bad/blob/master/tests/check/elements/glimagesink.c
the rest seem to work ok so far (even reads the stick on USB3)
Let us know if you can get started on ubuntu 16 with the 4.9 kernel.
Meanwhile I will work on training Networks …. Good Luck :-)

Not out of the box but with small tweaks it works - https://forums.intel.com/s/question/0D50P00004NM075SAD
