USB problems on Intel Aero

hello

I'm trying to use the NCS SDK, latest version from github

on Intel Aero (cherrytrail based board).

Production NCS, bought online.

Ubuntu 16.04.3 x64.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not.

Even for the same test.

Perhaps a USB v2-v3 switch problem?

It's not totally the stock kernel, we applied a few patches.

I did the test with the stock kernel and had the same problem.

thanks

USB: Transferring Data…

[Error 25] Myriad Error: "mvncStatus.TIMEOUT".

@paulguermonprez, we had some USB related issues with NCSDK v1.07, but that's been fixed in v1.09 & later versions.

Perhaps a USB v2-v3 switch problem?

Are you connected to a USB 2.0 or 3.0 port? If USB 3.0, can you please use a USB 2.0 adapter cable/hub and see if the problem persists?

hello

I'm using the git version (v1.10.01) and I still see the problem.

I just tested a fresh install of ubuntu 16.04.3

on a cherrytrail compute stick and I see the same errors as on aero.

So it's not aero specific

thanks

@paulguermonprez, can you please confirm if the problem persist when you use a USB 2.0 cable on your USB 3.0 port?

Hi All,

I had the same problem using Intel Movidius NCS v1 with Intel Aero RTF (with Ubuntu 16.04 aero vs).

I can confirm it, the problem is solved connecting the NCS to a USB 2.0 cable plugged to the HUB USB 3.0 connected to the Drone using a USB 3.0 OTG cable.

The NCS works fine (NCSDK V2.04) excepted using the NCAPPZOO apps with live camera and cv2 functions due to OpenCV error (linked to V4L2, pixel format and internal R200 camera).

I asked suggestions to Intel Community.

Best Regards
