Hello ,

Please I am having issues trying to run the Image classification verification script with squeezenet1.1. Surprisingly, I don't have any problem running other scripts and model but the problem occurs only when I try running squeezenet1.1 that I receive the following error message:

have you tried to run <INSTALL_DIR>\deployment_tools\demo\demo_squeezenet_download_convert_run.bat script? This should download and convert to IR public squeezenet1.1 model and run classification sample.

Thank you for your message, yes I tried running your recommended script and I received the error message: 

./demo_squeezenet_download_convert_run.bat: No such file or directory

What I have in my demo installation directory is: ./demo_squeezenet_download_convert_run.sh

and when i tried running it I received the error message: 

/openvino_models/ir/public/squeezenet1.1/FP16/squeezenet1.1.xml cannot be opened!

I don't know why because other scripts downloaded in the demo appears to run perfectly fine. 

Please advise.

@Onyenanu__Godspower Ups, I did not notice your environment is Linux, for the .sh file is needed to run, obviously. There is no magic in demo_squeezenet_download_convert_run.bat or demo_squeezenet_download_convert_run.sh scripts. They were intended to automate several preparation steps and so, to simplify quick run of demo. Those steps are:

- install model downloader prerequisites

- download squeezenet1.1 model

- install model optimizer prerequsities for Caffe models

- convert model to IR

- build classification_sample_async

- run sample with model and car.png image

From what you say it is probably model was not converted to IR, could you please attach full console log produced when you run demo_squeezenet_download_convert_run.sh script?

Thank you for reaching out to us.

The issue you encountered is not a common issue when running Image Classification Demo Script. We had difficulty to replicate this issue initially.

However, after trying various possibilities, I found that this error occurs if there is no squeezenet1.1xml inside the Target folder:

/<INSTALL_DIR>/openvino_models/ir/public/squeezenet1.1/FP16

Please remove the entire Target folder and run demo_squeezenet_download_convert_run.sh again.

Thank you for your response, I followed your recommendation, deleted the target folder and ran the script again and I still have the same problem. However, you were right, I discovered that there is no squeezenet1.1xml inside the target folder. And When ran the script again, I still didn't have the file inside the folder.

From your previous log file, your local machine were able to found inference engine at the following path:

/opt/intel/openvino_2021/deployment_tools/inference_engine/lib/intel64/libinference_engine.so

I suggest you uninstall OpenVINO™ Toolkit from your local machine and re-install OpenVINO™ Toolkit again.

Steps to uninstall OpenVINO™ Toolkit is available at the following page:

Thank you for your response and support. I have completed all the recommended steps. I completely uninstalled OpenVINO and reinstalled it but still I am experiencing the same problem:

I am guessing that the problem might be associated with Loading network files. I am of the opinion to try installing different version of OpenVINO to observe the difference.
