EP53F8QI and EN6347QA

Hi

I've made a design using the pok from En6347qi directly connected to the enable of EP53F8QI. The en6347 datasheet said that the pok pin has an internal 100kohm pull up and the pin current is only 40nA for the EP53F8QI. Thus, the internal 100k pullup should be enough to enable the EP53F8QI whenever the en6347 release the pok pin. However, the EP53F8QI never powers on this way and I need to blue wire at external pull up to the pok output pin to get the EP53F8QI to power on?

to clarify I am using the EN6347QA not the EN6347QI version.

The QA data sheet from  "10318 November, 27 2019 Rev J" :

"Power OK is an open drain transistor used for power system state indication. POK is logic high when VOUT is within ±10% of VOUT nominal and has an internal 100kΩ pull-up resistance to AVIN."

So from what i see in my design using the QA version there are no internal pull-up at all and the datasheet is misleading as the "internal 100kΩ pull-up resistance to AVIN" is wrong and the datashees should say clearly that POK reqiures an external pull up resistor.

We are really sorry for that POK misleading datasheet information, it happened during the datasheet converting to new Intel format.


So POK is an open drain circuit and it doesn't have any internal pull up resistor.

Did you shared your schematic with Intel's FAE for reviewed before?
