Hello
I am trying to install quartus in linux. But I am fed up with
that. Please can anyone help me?
I want to build a Multi-processor system that support pthread.
As I know, we can't do in Windows. So I decided to go with linux. I have
Stratix V family board. Only "Standard" edition supports Stratix v
board. What is the linux distribution should have in host PC to install Quartus
Standard Edition and installation procedure?
Anyone can help me with this?
Thanks

Thanks, I finally install in CentOS 7.
Anyway, I have a doubt. Can we build a multiprocessor system and boot Linux based OS in Stratix V board? Is it possible? Please can anyone clarify?
Because when I use the version 17.0 of "Intel SoC FPGA Embedded Development Suite", in the BSP-Editor, there is no OS option for Stratix V board to create pre-loader. It has option only for Cyclone V and Arria. BTW Intel page doesn't say EDS supports which device families.
When I checked earlier version 14.1, in the BSP-Editor, we don't need to mention device. But I don't know whether following steps specific for particular device family. I am just in the staring steps. But Quartus II Web Edition 14.1 doesn't support Stratix V, anyway it supports Cyclone IV. (I have got Cyclone IV board too). I want to make sure whether can we build a multiprocessor system with Linux based OS in Cyclone IV board?
Thanks

Hi Subramaniam,
Yes, We can do it.
For cyclone iv device you can follow the steps from NiosII Linux User Manual For Stratix IV
For reference design check the below link.

Hi,
Presently we don't have any user guide or reference design.
However, you can use the same user guide and see.

Hi
We need some board config files to configure U-Boot and Linux kernel for Nios II. Are these board files provided by board vendors? or can a user generate? I couldn't find 5sgxea7 board files. I feel like they should have been generated by users as per their design. Is not it? If so, how?
Thanks
