I am (my company is) a Quartus user last from circa 2019. We let our licenses lapse, and we are now interested in getting new licenses that will cover all product families. I was going to just get two floating Quartus Pro licenses, but it looks from https://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/central-libraries/us/en/documents/2023-11/quartus-prime-comparison-infographic.pdf as if I really need to buy one Pro and one Standard license to get full coverage. Is that true? I would have assumed that the Pro package would be a superset of the Standard package.
In addition, on https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/software-kit/845620/intel-quartus-prime-pro-edition-design-software-version-24-3-1-for-linux.html they have noted: "IMPORTANT: 24.3.1 release is for Agilex 5/7 only". So that leaves me not knowing what version of Pro we might need to get so that we get all the devices.
Can someone please demystify this for me? Thank you.

The previous response was referring to the licensing, not the tool. They're saying a Pro license can be used for both Quartus Standard and Pro editions. Yes, you need to *use* Standard and Pro to support all devices (not sure why you need that but that's OK), but you only need a "Pro" license to use either Standard or Pro.

Hi,
Good day.
Quartus Pro licenses covers for all features. Standard license have limitation in few features. You may purchase Pro License to get full coverage.
Yes, v24.3.1 only for Agilex5/7. You may grab V24.3 instead for all devices support.
Regards,
Pavee

According to this table: https://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/central-libraries/us/en/documents/quartus-prime-compare-editions-guide.pdf, Quartus Prime Pro does not support Stratix IV or V, Arria II, Cyclone IV, V, X LP, etc. It look from the table like one must purchase the Standard edition to get those devices supported. Again, that seems weird to me, and it contradicts what Pavee just told me. Is the table incorrect?
Thank you,
Jenn
