Question about Intel IP core full license

Hello,

Greetings of the Day!

I am having one question with respect to IP core license.

Assume that someone is using Quartus Prime Lite edition. Following link (https://www.intel.in/content/www/in/en/products/programmable/intellectual-property/ip-base-suite.html) says that in order to use some Intel IP cores in production phase with Lite edition, separate license needs to be bought.

Suppose we buy three seats floating license for some InteI IP cores. Three seats indicate at any point of time, 3 people can use this license.

My question is in which stage this license is required:

  1. Analysis and Synthesis
  2. Fitter
  3. Assembler

Or is it required during all of above 3 stages?

Thank you in advanced!

Regards,

Bhaumik

Hello

Welcome to INTEL forum. Based on my understanding, the IP license checked out when the first encrypted file of the IP core is opened by the Quartus, and the license is held for the duration of synthesis.

Also, IP license is check out during Assembler proses and it hold. Refer to KDB https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/programmable/articles/000083874.html
