I downloaded Quartus II ver 13.0.1 which I understand is the only currently available version that supports Stratix devices (not Stratix II/II/IV/V or 10). (The exact version is Quartus II 64-bit version 13.0.1 Build 232 16/12/2013 SJ Full version). I got this info from https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/programmable/support-resources/design-software/devices-support.html#intel%C2%AEstratix%C2%AEseries
I got the design to compile OK for Stratix, but it says it will not generate .sof file, since I was using an evaluation version. I can't make out whether this is a subscription/web/standard edition
So I went through the process of generating a license file and installing it, which went through. But now when I start Quartus it says "Stratix devices are not supported in this version of Quartus II web edition, use a version that supports your device". If I just go ahead, compile fails "Error (20005): A license file is required to enable compilation of your design for the Stratix family of devices". I could compile OK earlier.
It looks like the license file and the version I need for the Stratix device is not compatible. How to resolve such that I can compile and generate the programming file for the Stratix device?
