I'll just say that the version I have is 1.1 and this is the version you can get with the CD downloaded from Altera's website.

What version of Quartus II and Nios II to use?
I tried twice, v5.1 and v9.0, both failed. I followed the instructions below: 1. Copy DE2 demonstration NET module from Altera Demo CD to your computer. <cd drive letter>:/DE2_demonstrations/DE2_NET 2. Read README.txt included in the demonstration design. 3. Connect the DE2 board with a switch using a network cable. 4. Connect the DE2 board VGA output with a monitor. 5. Compile the demonstration module. 6. Run the design by programming it onto the DE2 board. But when I was building the project in Nios II, I got the error: /bin/sh: fork: Resource temporarily unavailable cygpath: can't convert empty path /cygdrive/c/altera/90/nios2eds/components/altera_hal/build/system_rules.mk:120: /components/altera_hal/build/gnu_rules.mk: No such file or directory /cygdrive/c/altera/90/nios2eds/components/altera_hal/build/system_rules.mk:124: /components/altera_hal/build/gtf_rules.mk: No such file or directory make[1]: *** No rule to make target `/components/altera_hal/build/gtf_rules.mk'. Stop. I searched online, didn't find any solutions. Could anyone help me? Thanks a lot! Yuping- Mark as New
