Hi all,
I'm working with the DE2 board and I have built a system which includes the charater LCD core that came with the university program IP cores. According to the NIOS II software development handbook, the character LCD would be a character-mode device which can be used as a channel for stdout. However, when I try to change the stdout device in the system library properties page, I don't see the LCD in the drop down menu. I have checked many times that I have the correct PTF selected, so I don't know what could be wrong with it. Any help or ways to get around this problem is much appreciated. Thank you.Link Copied

Hiya!
when the system is being generated in the SOPC builder, check the messages that are generated... If it is including the cores in the system, it should be visible in your sys lib properties... Also, i'm not sure whether it makes a difference or not but try using the core that comes built in with the SOPC builder... --- Quote Start --- I have built a system which includes the charater LCD core that came with the university program IP cores --- Quote End ---
