Can't find "Command Prompt with Intel Compiler"

Hi,

  I have installed parallel_studio_xe_2016_update1_composer_edition_for_cpp_setup and parallel_studio_xe_2016_update1_composer_edition_for_fortran_setup.

I saw the instructions says that I can start under command-line by clicking "Compiler and Performance Libraries > Command Prompt with Intel Compiler" under memu "Intel Parallel Studio XE 2016". BUT, I don't find the memu "Compiler and Performance Libraries ".

  Seeking for help. Thanks.

It is not clear if you completed the installation process. It is not enough to download the installers. Did you run the installers that you named? Do you see entries beginning with "Intel Parallel Studio" in your Windows Start menu? On which version of Windows are you doing this?

I wonder if you don't have a supported Visual Studio installed and that you ignored the warnings given by the installer. The installers will allow you to continue but very little will actually get installed.

Yes, I ran the installers. It seems completed, and I have entry "Intel Parallel Studio XE 2016" in my Windows Start memu. My OS is Win7.

If I only want to use the compiler from command line (like under Linux),  still need Visual Studio installed ?

Even for command line usage, you need the Visual Studio package installed because tools such as the linker, librarian, C runtime libraries and DLLs are contained in that package. Visual Studio should be installed before installing Intel Fortran.

Which sub-entries can you see under the Intel Parallel Studio entry in the Start menu?

Thanks for help. That's the problem. I didn't install Visual Studio. It works now.
