Create new .f90 file in macOS

Hi,

I'm trying to run Intel Fortran Compiler for macOS Mojave 10.14. I have installed the package, but I'm not able to create new files. In order to run the compiler, I write in the terminal:

source /opt/intel/bin/compilervars.sh intel64

then,

ifort my_source_file.f90

The terminal says 'file not found', when all I'm trying to do is create that file.

How does one create a file in IFort?

Thanks!

Hi David, usually you take your favorite editor, type in the file, and save it, thereby creating the file. You can also use an IDE where others are better suited to give you advice.

Best, Juergen

The ifort command is used to compile the Fortran source once you have created it.
