Changing only the host name of the floating license during the support period is,
is it correct to edit the host name of the license file.

No - that will fail. The best option is to install a current compiler from the oneAPI toolkit, as it does not have a license requirement.

You cannot edit a license file.  there is a checksum in there that will detect your edit.  To move hosts you need to get onto your account on https://registrationcenter.intel.com and use the tool to modify your license to move to a new host and download or email the new license to yourself.


OR as Steve says, just ditch that old compiler and it's licensing altogether.
