Intel Visual Fortan Composer XE 2011 remote installation problem

I am having trouble installing Intel Visual Fortran Composer XE 2011 due a problem validating the product license. When attempting to verfy the product registration remotely (ie server not connected to the internet), the update code is not recognized. This update number was obtained from  http://registrationcenter.intel.com/regcenter/RemoteActivation.aspx after entering the Activation Code given by the product installation guide. Please advise me on how to verify my license key so that I can install the Fortran Compiler.

Remote activation of old versions tends not to work. Please log in to the Intel Registration Center and select the option to have a license file emailed to you. Take this file (a .lic file) to the system where you're installing and select the option to activate using a license file.
