Lost project settings

I have relocated to a new machine (Win7Pro-32bit, VS2008, IVF 2011.4.196). Everything installed perfectly, my .vfproj loads, shows all files and components, but the "compile" button is now greyed, none of the source files can be compiled, even though they are definitely included in the build. Evidently some project or global setting has been changed -- suggestions appreciated.

Added comment: amazing how posting here can catalyze a solution. Turns out the file extension registrations within the IVF integration had vanished, pressed reset and all is well.

Any suggestions I would have would just be a stab in the dark. Would it be possible to upload a zip of your project?
You can also contact Intel Premier Support and upload your project there. You can find the support link here:
http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/intel-software-developer-support/
It would also help to know what your previous machine was. Did you upgrade to a newer version of VS and/or IVF?
Can you create a new project in IVF and write a simple program just to make sure everything is working?

Yes, this is a problem we see with some customers, but are never able to reproduce it here. I added a tip on this to the Knowledge Base article on Visual Studio integration issues.

Yes, thank you, it was your tip which enabled me to fix the problem.

What happened is that the file extension settings simply vanished when the existing (mature, fully-functional) project was accessed by the new VS+IVF installation. The symptom immediately suggested a file-registration issue, but it's a bit of an easter-egg hunt to track down where in the VS setup that is actually specified.

Intel Visual Fortran Composer XE 2011 Integration for Microsoft Visual Studio* 2008, 12.0.3471.2008

Everything is exactly the same as previously installed on WinXP. Interestingly, the same VS+IVF now running on Win7Pro-32 (same CPU, new hard disk) cuts the compile time in half compared to XP, very impressive.

Fritz,

Ordinarily, you would just log in to the Intel Registration Center and you can retrieve your licenses and download the last version you're entitled to. If you have forgotten your password, you can have it reset there.

I can't find a registration under the email address you use for the forum. I tried looking for your name and found only a user with an Intel C++ license in another country. Please post your question in Intel® Software Development Products Download, Registration & Licensing and one of our licensing specialists will try to help you.
