What is the typical / expected response time time for Premier Support issues?
I realise this is akin the asking how long a piece of string is, but some indication of typical response time would help.
It is now 2 weeks since I submitted an issue. I got a near immediate response advising that the issue was being looked at, but since then have heard not a thing.
Is this typical (due to the work load), or is it that problems have been experience with the issue that they have not been able to resolve yet?
If the latter,a update brief message after a week or so would help. If it is the former, I should adjust my expectations accordingly.

Usually you will get a response within a day indicating that an engineer is working on the issue. If you do not get that, please feel free to send in an update asking. Or you can send me an e-mail with the six digit report number and I'll look at it - steve.lionel@intel.com
