Recall previous text lines in a text window

Is there a way to recall previous text lines entered in a text window (in a QuickWin program) if there are repeated READs from this window? I am thinking of something like hitting the "up arrow" to cycle through several previous lines entered, in much the same way as what "doskey.exe" does in a (DOS) command window.
