Restrict searches to code only - possible?

Is there any way to restrict searches to code variables? ie; so that the search ignores comments.
Can be a real pain searching for a variable that is a work used frequently in comments.

Oops - should have said that I amrefering to code searches from within the IDE editor (IVF8).
