I clicked on the link from a reseller for a free trial, was redirected to the Intel site, gave my e-mail address, recievced an e-mail with a temporary key to use and a link where to download the compiler from but when I clicked on it, the only offer was to download via FTP which failed to find the file...help please
Here is the link
http://www.intel.com/software/products/compilers/downloads/forwin.htm.
and here is the failure message I got:
The following URL could not be retrieved: ftp://download.intel.com/software/products/compilers/downloads/eval/preview/W_FC_P_9.0.018.exe
Squid sent the following FTP command:
and then received this replyRETR W_FC_P_9.0.018.exe
W_FC_P_9.0.018.exe: The system cannot find the file specified.
This might be caused by an FTP URL with an absolute path (which does not comply with RFC 1738). If this is the cause, then the file can be found at ftp://download.intel.com/%2f/software/products/compilers/downloads/eval/preview/W_FC_P_9.0.018.exe.

I'll see what I can find out. The link isn't working for me at the moment either.
Just to make sure that you're ok later - you do have either Visual C++.NET or Visual Studio.NET installed already?

We see this problem intermittently - trying again later usually helps. If I find out more, I'll let you know.
