Update to IVF 10 Prof

Hello,

I would like to update an old version of IVF (purchased Dec 2005) to IVF 10 Prof.

Is this possible via a SSR licence for IVF 10 Prof or do I have to buy a new copy of IVF 10 Prof?

I do have a second very old licence of IVF (purchased Dec 2004). Can I buy 2 SSR licences to update the old licence?

What is this common way to do it? Can I buy it via Intel directly or do I have to use a lokal (German) vendor?

Thank in advance
Frank

When you purchase a SSR renewal, support is extended from the date your previous support expired. If you bought in December 2005, the support would have expired in December 2006. A renewal would extend that to December 2007.

Whether or not it makes sense to do this depends on how long ago the support expired and the relative prices. For a product purchased in 2004, it may be more economical to buy a new license.

One question I would like to renew.

It is possible to update from old (standard) IVF to new (Prof) IVF by buying a SSR renewal?

Thanks in advance

Yes, it is. We encourage you to do so and lowered the price of the SSR to make it attractive.

I bought my IVF in dec. 2005, so my support expired dec.2006. Can I still upgrade to IVF v10 Prof. by buing a Prof. SSR?
Also I have an older version, the support expired may 2006. Can I buy two IVF Prof.SSRs to get the upgrade to v10 Prof.?
Thank's a lot!

Ok, I got the official answer.

Yes, you can buy the two renewals to bring yourself current. The rule is that as long as the previous renewal start date is in the past, you can buy another renewal and extend support. So for the license which expired in May 2006, you buy and register one SSR that is good for May 2006-May 2007. Since the SSR start date, May 2006, is in the past, you can buy and register another SSR that will extend you to May 2008.
