Update to Intel Fortran 2011.0.104?

After having problems trying to compile code with the newest Intell Fortran which I purcased last December, I reverted to CVF. Now, my machine running Windows XP and my Compaq Visual Fortran with Visual Studio 2000 has died.

1) I was wondering if there was a newer version of the Intel compiler which I should download before proceeding to work with the compiler again, while I try to revive my CVF machine?

2) Also, I received an e-mail from tgcginc.com saying there was a judgement that I could recoup expenses if I had to purchase another compiler because my Intel compiler wouldn't compile my code:

"On November 2, 2010 the Federal Trade Commission announced the approval of a Decision and Order in the matter of Intel Corporation, Docket No. 9341. Section VIID of that Decision and Order pertains to compiler reimbursements. The Order can be viewed online at www.CompilerReimbursementProgram.com."

What's with that?

3) Is this the right way to get support? Posting to a public forum seems to be a roundabout way of doing this. Is there a more direct way? Should I make the thread private?

Thanks,

Charles

1. When you log in to the Intel Registration Center it will offer you the latest compiler you are eligible for. Today that is Update 2.

2. You will have to visit the web site and read the documents for yourself. We're not allowed to comment on that.

3. You have two ways of getting support. This forum is a fast and easy way to describe your issues and get help from knowledgeable users as well as Intel engineers. With your purchase you also get a year of Intel Premier Support which provides a private, secure channel for one-on-one interaction with an Intel support engineer. If you're reporting a product problem, it's your choice as to which you use. Many people like the forum and the ability to get comments from other users. If you have a "how do I do this" type question, we will direct you to the forum rather than Premier Support.

Here in the forum you can make a thread or post private if you like, though if you take that route you may be more comfortable with Premier Support. A private post can be seen only by Intel support engineers (and yourself.) Click on the Tech Support link in this forum for more information on the options. Note that we also have a searchable knowledge base that can sometimes help.
