Hello,
I have downloaded several times the full installation package for update 2 of the 2015 Fortran Composer (w_compxe_2015.2.179.exe).
I logged in on the registration center using my personal credentials (personal license).
On my home computer I can install this update without any problem.
Now I copied the full installation package to my work computer (different license, but valid for this package and I got administrator rights on this machine).
Problem is that Installation completely fails. The files get unpacked setup starts and within a second closes again without any message.
I have tried to download the package again now directly on my work computer (again using my personal credentials in the registration center), but I get a message that the signature of the program is corrupt or invalid (same happens if I try to use the online installer). If I ignore the warning and run the full installer package anyway I get the same problem as before (setup closes within a second without any message)
Is this normal behavior or are my "administrator rights" just too limited?
Note that I could run a repair on the installed 2015 Fortran Composer using the initial release 2015 Fortran Composer installation package that I also downloaded with my personal credentials.
kind regards,
Walter Kramer

I have seen another report of this behavior and was waiting for the user to get back to me with additional information. Perhaps you could try the "online installer" and see if it behaves the same? Maybe try temporarily disabling your antivirus (if you have one) to see if that changes things.

Hello,
The online installer has the same problem. The installer shows "Extracting Configuration Files" and then stops.
I cannot disable the virusscanner, but I added the installers to the approved programs list and the virusscanner also did not report any program blocking.

Ok, thanks. I will ask the install developers for assistance.

Hello,
I have attached an installation log file.
458943
Everytime I tried to install the log file ends with the same critical messages.

[t186c 2015.04.21 21.38.18 00000044] [message_processor]: CRITICAL: Failed to load plugin: system/string list
Perhaps this helps to find the cause of the issue.

The following topic describes the same issue.
https://software.intel.com/en-us/forums/topic/544642
I am afraid that I don't know what is meant with the root certificate in this topic and which actions I should actually take.
If I open the countersignature certificate issued by the Starfield Services Root Certificate Authority I see the message:
"The timestamp signature and/or certificate could not be verified or is malformed"
I suppose this is causes the problem. Question is how do I solve it.
Any idea?

Problem solved.
I downloaded sfsroot.crt from https://certs.secureserver.net/repository (also available from godaddy) and installed the certificate.
After this I could install update 2

Thanks - I never would have figured that out. I will see if this helps the other customer with the problem.

This problem was fixed for Parallel Studio XE 2016 Update 1.
