My workplace has several licenses for the 9.x compiler for which we've allowed the support/maintenance contracts to lapse.
I noticed this on the 10.0 compiler website ... "Note: If you have the Intel Visual Fortran Compiler Standard Edition, purchasing a support renewal gives you an upgrade to the Professional Edition at no additional cost." ... but my guess is that the support won't apply in our case since (I think) 9.x and 10.x are considered different products ... can someone confirm this?
Are there any options for upgrrading the 9.x product to 10.0, or is the only choice to buy a full license like any customer off the street? Thanks.

See this support FAQ. We license by date, not by version. You can purchase support renewal at any time, but doing so extends the support from the expiration date of the last license. Whether it is cost-effective to do so depends on how long ago your support expired.
