I am currently working with VS 2005 and IVF 10.026/IMSL on Windows NT.
As I am going to upgrade to Windows7 very soon, I wonder if the system
will work, ie. canVS 2005 be installed under Windows 7 or 8 ?
If I should upgrade my programming environment, what would the best option?
Best regards

If you install VS2005 on Windows 7, the general service pack and the additional Vista/win7 service pack are needed. You are still left with the issue that you must "run as administrator." As support for VS2005 has been dropped, you have no assurance that it would run on windows 8. Also, the Intel 13.0 compilers to be released later this year will not work with VS2005.
VS2010 is supported by current Intel compilers and would work on Windows 8. VS2012 would release by the time you could use Windows 8 for development. You would not yet be able to get Intel compilers for Windows 8 nor VS2012; those will be developed and tested after the Microsoft components are stabilized and released.

Thank you for your answer, TimP
In plain words a good choice for Win7 would be IVF Composer XE 2011 and VS2010?
