Intel Visual Fortran 9.0 does not integrate with Visual Studio 2005. Support for VS2005 will come in a new version to be released in May.
For use from the command line only, version 9.0.030, available from Intel Premier Support File Downloads, will recognize VS2005 (including the Express Edition) for command line use. Note that even when we release our new version with VS2005 support, VS2005 Express Edition will not enable IDE integration as Microsoft has prevented third-party products from doing so.

If you are an Express Edition user, we recommend that you also download and install the Microsoft Platform SDK before installing the compiler so that you have access to the Win32 API libraries which are not provided with VS2005 Express Edition.
Please note that Developer Studio integration into VS2005 is NOT supported in Intel Visual Fortran 9.0.

I would like to be absolutely clear on what VF9.1 will do. I have VS6 and CVF6.x, which work together in the IDE: building, linking and debugging pgms which have C, C++ and Fortran modules works smoothly. I never use the command line for anything.
Will VF9.1 integrate with VS2005 in the same way, without using the command line? Will I be able to use the VS debugger on Fortran modules directly? Are there any other gotchas I should know about?

Perhaps I'm doing something wrong, but when I try to install the w_fc_c_9.0.030_IA32.exe, I get part way through the installation and thenan error occurs that says:
"The contents of this file cannot be unpacked. The executable you are trying to run has been corrupted. Please obtain another copy of the file, verify its integrity, and try again."
Well, I downloaded again, and had the same problem. I even tried the installation on a different computer and same problem.
Has anyone else seen this problem?
Thanks,
Tom

I am trying to setup ifort9.0/VS2005 for my boss. However after reading this thread I realized why it is not working. Is the 9.1 version really due in May and does it integrate with VS2005? And if so, is it possible to receive a beta version and try it? I really need to do this as soon as possible and any help or advice will be highly appreciated.
