VS 2005 IDE Crash

Steve,

Intel are continuing to put their reputation at risk by teaming up with Visual Studio.

Having just reinstalledall my software on a new machine and moved all my projects, I am frustrated by the "VS needs to close" errors which prevent me doing any work.

My first build on the new machine failed because I had not updated the Includes folder list to add sevefal modules. Changing the Includes list caused MS to fail. Even removing the folder from the list results in MS continuing to fail. Such a simple change to settings should not cause the whole IDE to fail like this.

I have reported this to Premier Support.

Not happy.

David

David,

I'm sorry to hear you're having problems. This is not, however, a common issue, so we need to find out what is specifically causing the trouble for you. Reporting it to Intel Premier Support is the right approach.

Steve,
We have now closed the report on Premier Support, as we have not been able to reproduce the error after uninstalling and reinstalling everything.
However, I still believe that Intel's reputation is being tarnished by the difficulties associated with MSVS and we want better than this.
The IDE should not crash while the compiler is building an App, or evern when attempting to close the IDE, as happened to me. I'm happy for my build to fail due to coding errors, but the IDE should not crash in situations like this.

Thanks,
David
