Valgrind work with Intel Fortran, C++ ?

I am trying to use valgrind with a program of mixed Intel Fortran 7.1 and gcc 2.96 and it is crashing even though a simple gcc 2.96 program works. Should valgrind work with the mixed Fortran/gcc program?
