not enough virtual memory

The code runs fine upto certain domain size on 3D (# number of nodes). As I increased the domain size I get an error " not enough virtual memory". My friend runs the same code on his computer and it runs fine. How can I increased my virtual memory? this computer has 500MB on RAM is it worth to increase it?

Try increasing the size of your system paging file.
