Dear administrator(s) of this board,

My last posting shows my email address
(my family name at hawaii dot edu)
instead of my login ID (ryofurue)! I've been
careful not to post my email address to prevent
spammers from harvesting it.

Could you please delete my email address?!?!

But why did this happen? Is it because I submitted
the posting without logging in? (I don't remember
whether I posted after logging in. But, is it possible
to post without logging in?)

Finally, is this the right place to ask this? How can
I reach the administrator(s)?

Thank you,
Ryo Furue

I've had to run Google frequently to see when this site has exposed my e-mail address, go and remove those messages which were removable, and make changes in "My Profile." I thought the administrators might have become aware of the problems they were creating, but apparently that was too optimistic. Yes, it takes months for the flurry of spam to die down after this site exposes an e-mail address.

If you aren't permitted to remove your message, when logged in, try the "Contact Us" button, where you can e-mail a Web support person.

I see your login ID and not your email address.

It looks to me as if you have two different logins - one with a username and one with an e-mail address. If I ask for the set of posts, they are different.
I will talk to the administrators and see what can be done here.

Yes, that is indeed what happened. You created two logins, one with a username and the other with your email address as the username. I have requested that these be merged. In the future, make sure you always log in with the username.

Thanks, Tim and Steve!

I see! I don't remember when I last *explicitly* logged
in to the account with my email address as the username.
When I click on the "login" link, I'm often logged in without
even typing a username or password. I guess that's
because of cookies stored in my web browser. When I'm
asked to type my username, I type in "ryofurue" as far
as I remember. That means that it must be a while since
I last explicitly typed in my email address for a username.

Today, I explicitly logged in using my email address as the
username after having removed cookies. A strange thing
is that the password for that account hasn't been expired:
my old password which doesn't contain any special
character worked. For the other account (with "ryofurue"
as the username), I was asked to change the password to
include at least one non-alphanumeric character and also
I'm asked to change it every three months or so.

Anyway, thanks for your help.
