Folks,
Sorry to say, in our striving to be ultra secure, we inadvertently caused some of the Intel GPA Framework to fail to launch. GPA Framework is our command line tool. If you only use the GUI tools -- System Analyzer, Graphics Trace Analyzer and Graphics Frame Analyzer -- you will not have this issue.
Functionality Affected
If you are using any of the following features:
- gpa-player.exe
- gpa-stream-analyzer.exe
- gpa-stream-info.exe
- and possibly
- gpa-cpp-generator.exe
- gpa-metrics-collector.exe
Behavior
- You enter the command, i.e. ./gpa-player <stream> and hit enter;
- A blank line appears
- Your command prompt appears -- no error, no warning, no launch, no output.
Workaround
Use these features in a cmd instance or Git Bash instance in administrator mode. Likely, you will only need to do this once.
For our next release -- 2023.4, we will implement a different solution for copying 3rd party dlls into our installation folder.
