HLS compiler in Quartus Pro Edition vs Standard Edition

HLS compiler from Standard Edition looks a bit outdated:

1. It is supported in much less OSs https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/programmable/support/support-resources/download/os-support.html
2. It requires VS 2010 (when VS 2017 is needed for Pro)

Does HLS compiler Standard Edition can produce the same level of performance as Pro Edition?

I'm asking because I need HLS for Stratix V and Standard Edition was always enough for Stratix V. But I have doubts now.

For your information, "if you have multiple versions of Visual Studio, Microsoft recommends installing

Visual Studio versions in the order in which the versions were released. For

example, install Visual Studio 2010 before installing Visual Studio 2015. For

details, see Install Visual Studio Versions Side-by-Side in the MSDN Library" as stated in https://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/programmable/us/en/pdfs/literature/hb/hls/ug-hls-getting-started.pdf chapter 1.4.

According to https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/programmable/downloads/download-center.html, I found that the Stratix V is not support in pro edition.

Indeed Stratix V is only supported in the Standard versions, and the Quartus Prime Standard toolchain is not under active development anymore which means it will rarely get updated anymore (if at all). The Pro version is still updated frequently and this is the reason why it supports more OSes and newer Visual Studio.
