Hi,
I have found a reference of ippicv in the third party folder of OpenCV source code. Can you kindly comment whether a commercial license for ippicv is to be procured by a user who distributes OpenCV?
The ippEULA that was found in the OpenCV distribution lists different types of licenses from Intel. This is a source for confusion because the users of OpenCV cannot be sure if they have the right to distribute ippicv, if it is a part of the OpenCV distribution.
It would be really helpful if a clear answer is provided for this question, as there seems to be many persons who asked this question, but not got the right answer.
Regards,
Rahul

A subset of Intel® IPP (https://software.intel.com/en-us/ipp) is included by default to OpenCV builds on Intel platforms. This subset of IPP, called IPPICV, is free for all OpenCV users. IPP accelerates a number of kernels in OpenCV, mostly the image processing.
Intel has granted OpenCV Foundation and all users the right to use IPPICV libraries free of charge for both non-commercial and commercial use. Optimization with IPPICV is enabled by default on the supported platforms.

Hi,
In the above,
Although it is free for to use, it does not seem to clearly state that it is free for distribution.
Is it free for distributions that use it for commercial purposes?
I would like to know the procedure for using it for commercial purposes.
Or, if there is an exact location listed, could you please guide me?
Regards,
Fujikawa

IPP-CV is a subset of IPP product. Please review all the licensing agreements listed under Intel’s most commonly used End User License Agreements (“EULA”) for the Intel® Software Development Tools and other software development products, including commercialization and redistribution under, Intel Simplified Software License, which is applicable to Intel® Integrated Performance Primitives and review OpenCV licenses too.

We recommend consulting with your own legal team to help you with this process.
