So It's been over a year, two or maybe more since I've followed up on this and I will bump another thread which quoted my original issue.
https://forums.intel.com/s/question/0D50P00004KAn65SAD/fix-for-dch-graphic-drivers-flickervideo-drop-outs-on-7i7bnh?language=en_US&t=1578382395408
Here I am probably well into this and it is getting to be more of an issue as windows update is now installing the DCH driver automatically on a reboot, currently 27.20.100.7623, which breaks my NUC video/audio. I manually install the good driver (see below), reboot and I have to do it all over again.
I was involved in testing the problem with the registry fix for the chipset to disable GFX EDRAM over 2 years ago, so why is this still a problem on newly released drivers? Every DCH release has been unusable.
To this date, driver build: 25.20.100.6373 (BN special) was the very latest driver, that I know of which works flawlessly. There are no video flickering problems or audio dropouts, tested up to 4K 60p HDR, no problems.
Could someone at this point, please go back and find out what is wrong with all current drivers (DCH) .
If Ivan is still around he knew what the problem was and worked with me on it.
I'd love for this fix to be moved forward into the DCH drivers. Yes I tried the registry fix which was for the special BN driver, but it doesn't fix it anymore on the DCH driver releases.
Thanks!
What changed in the DCH switch that was left out for us 7i7BNH owners with the Iris plus 650 from the fix that was implemented in the BN released GFX drivers which died years ago.

For the mean time, you may downgrade your driver to the working versions and stop Windows to upgrade to the latest DCH driver: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17588/windows-fix-problems-that-block-programs-being-installed-or-removed
