Intel NUC 7i7DNHE boot drive should be 0 or 1?

Hi

I got a new Intel NUC7i7DNHE. I fitted the NUC with an M2 SATA SSD  drive and a normal 2,5 inch SATA SSD drive . Both 500GB. Two questions: which is "drive 0" and which one is "drive 1"? During the installation process I could not know which is one and which is  the other one as both are the same size. On which drive shoul I install windows: on the M2 SATA drive or the other one?

Thank you very much!

Traditionally, Intel has assigned the SATA0 lane to the 2.5" SATA drive bay and the SATA1 lane to the M.2 connector. This will cause a 2.5" SATA drive to appear ahead of a M.2 SATA SSD.

You want to install Windows onto the SSD; it is the higher performance drive. Leon is correct; the best way to be absolutely sure is to depopulate the 2.5" drive bay while you install Windows onto the SSD.

Open the bottom cover and disconnect the SATA cable, leaving only M.2 drive connected.

Thank you very much! I thought I will find out which one is the M2 drive without opening the case.

I had the same issue and unplugged my SATA cable and finished the installation. Now I have another issue. I can't seem to figure out how to reinstall the SATA. I can't seem to find any diagram on this. It is a ribbon style with a push down lock. My NUC is a 10i5FNH1. Help?
