NUC6i5SYH USB 3.0 Windows install support "Cleaning up mount directory" msg.

I found out an install issue with USB 3 support so I downloaded "Windows 7 USB 3.0 Image Creator" and I can't get pass thru "Cleaning up mount directory", the software just gets stuck in there and I can't the the USB 3 support for my flash drive to install the OS. What can I do???

Go through the process on another Windows 7-based computer. For some reason I don't fathom, Windows 7 PCs arrive into a (I think permanent) state where the DISM commands stop working (the Image Creator is doing DISM commands under the covers). I moved to a different Windows 7 PC and tried it there and was successful (luckily I have a few).

P.S. I noticed a few folks posting already-modified ISO images for others to try. You could try one of these as well...

Hi Scott,

Thanks for your input. Do you happen to have any of those already-modifed ISO images, I'm kinda desperate and I have no other computer to try to create the install disk.

Have the same problem and I've solved it.

The Intel tool have some bug. Use the procedure from the following link:

This procedure works but I advice you - do not delete x86 = 32-bit drivers as it is written in paragraph 9 of the above procedure. Some keyboard needs 32 bit driver.

lw1948, I tried your method, I managed to make it work, then finally inserted the stick on my new NUC and when I get to install screen I get "Select the driver to be installed" and it lists nothing, nothing at all, I can't any image to install on the SSD. This is so frustrating.

Sorry for such delayed replay. Didn't saw your post. My answer was related to your question (i.e. How to install USB3 driver in Win 7). As you mentioned you make it work with the procedure I've send you. Now you have problem that you don't see your SSD during Win 7 installation. Since you have not detailed your configuration. I can assume that you have some NVMe SSD. Hope you have already solved it, but in case that you didn't and the problem is with NVMe SSD you can try this:

1. Download Intel driver for NVMe SSD from the following link:

 

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/23929/Intel-Solid-State-Drive-Data-Center-Family-for-PCIe-... Download Intel® SSD Data Center Family for NVMe Drivers

2. Extract the driver from the zip file.

3. Copy Driver64 directory to your USB stick with WIN7 installation.

4. During Win 7 installation, browse to the Driver64 directory.

5. Continue with installation.

In case that you have Samsung NVMe M950 Pro, use the Samsung driver from the following link:

http://www.samsung.com/semiconductor/minisite/ssd/download/consumer.html?target=1 Consumer SSD | Download | Samsung V-NAND SSD in the same way as described for the Intel driver.

cortega26, looks that USB3 driver is missing from your image.

  1. 1. Did you follow exactly the procedure I've send you except not to deleting x86 = 32-bit drivers x86 = 32 bit drivers?

cortega26, If you want I can upload for you patched by me boot.wim and install.wim files with USB3 driver included' but I'm not sure that those files can work with your WIN7?

I've use Win7 Pro 64bit, still I don't know if the windows Key is not included in install.wim file. If it is the case, you can't use my files.
