Intel Optane Memory on an AsRock Z270 Extreme4

I just bought a new system with an AsRock Z270 Extreme4 MoBo, Intel i7-7700K Kaby Lake Processor, 2TB WD Black SATA drive and an Intel Optane 32GB Memory Module. I am receiving error 0xa0070015 when I attempt to enable the Optane Memory via Intel Rapid Storage Technology application. I have updated my BIOS to the latest version and have even tried the Beta BIOS. I have manually set the SATA controller to the Intel Optane Memory RAID option in the UEFI and have enabled mapping on the M2 slots. I also disabled CSM. I also tried swapping the M2 slot the Optane memory is in with no changes. I have reached out to AsRock support but they have no additional support to offer me at this time. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for posting. We understand that you're experiencing issues to enable Intel® Optane™ Memory acceleration on your system.

 

 

Please uninstall Intel® Rapid Storage Technology (Intel® RST) and install the Intel Optane Memory Setup. Both applications can be http://SetupOptaneMemory.exe downloaded here, make sure you download SetupOptaneMemory.exe.

 

 

Try to enable the the module with the Intel Optane Setup. If the issue persists, please provide us with the following logs:

 

 

- Intel® System Support Utility report.

 

1. Download the latest Intel® SSU.

 

2. Select to include "everything."

 

3. Name and save the report.

 

- Intel Optane Memory logs located at C:\Users\[your_user_name]\Intel\Logs

That's as far as the install gets. I have ran it numerous times and it gets to that point each time I run it.

Please update your system BIOS to the latest version (2.70). https://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z270%20Extreme4/index.asp# BIOS It can be downloaded here. There's also an update available to the Intel Optane Memory setup software, please install the latest release (version 16.0.2.1086):

I installed the new BIOS version and downloaded the new Intel Optane Memory application and that did not work. It ended up that it did not work due to my local disk being formatted as GPT. I reinstalled windows onto a MBR local disk and it worked great!! Thank you for all your assistance.
