Hi, I have tried to install the intel optane 16gb but it didn't work.

I have set CSM to Disable;

Enable the sata controller mode;

Set the Sata mode to Intel® RST and System Acceleration with Intel® Optane™ Technology.

After all these steps, the computer didn't boot up into Windows 10 anymore. I guess by switching the Sata mode I've disable my SSD (which contains my windows 10). Do I have to reinstall windows 10 after doing all these steps to turn on Intel Optane? Or what can I do to fix?

Thank you for posting in the Intel® communities.

It may be possible that your OS was installed in a way it’s not compatible with the current configuration. In this case, it’s recommended to re-install the OS after configuring the BIOS correctly.

Make sure your OS is working in UEFI mode and using GPT partition style. If it’s using MBR partition style, then it will not work after changing the BIOS to UEFI mode and disabling the CSM setting. This would explain why you are getting this behavior.

The partition style is set automatically when you install the OS based on the current BIOS configuration. It the BIOS is configured in Legacy mode, then the OS may be installed using MBR partition style, but if the BIOS is set in UEFI mode, then the OS will use GPT partition style during the installation.

On the other hand, another community user had a similar issue, but he fixed it by configuring the BIOS correctly and setting up the remapping feature only for the module and not for the primary drive. I’m not sure if this configuration applies to you motherboard too, but it is worth to mention as you may be experiencing a similar issue, and maybe the OS installation is not the root cause here. If you will re-install the OS, please make sure to leave at least 5MB of unallocated space at the end of the primary drive as it’s shown in the following picture. This reserved space is necessary for the module to work properly.

Please describe your Hardware setup: Computer model and/or Motherboard P/N, System drive P/N (where you want install Windows 10), HDD P/N you want to accelerate win Optane memory, RAM size, bios version.
Once I will see this information, I'll be able to give better instruction how to install Windows 10 and how to enable Optane memory to accelerate your HDD.

Just to answer your previous questions in case someone else check the thread in the future, you can indeed accelerate a secondary drive as long as the system meets the requirements. Regarding to the unallocated space at the end of the drive, it should be reserved when you are installing the OS. You can select there the amount of space you want to reserve and then install the OS in the remaining space. As an alternative way, I know there are third party softwares that allow you to create partitions in the drive, so this is another option to accomplish this.
