Hi,
I have had to completely format my Optane HDD with a view to reinstalling Windows.
The format was successful and I created a new simple volume and the drive is detected on another PC when plugged into a caddy.
When I install the Optane M.2 drive into my laptop in preparation to install the OS I am presented with the option:
"Where do you want to install Windows"
However the drive is not showing.
I am assuming that I require a driver however the only driver I have found is an EXE file online... (setupRST.exe) this however doesnt work when I choose "Refresh"!??
The drive model is: HBRPEKNX0202A
Intel Optane Memory H10 with Solid Sate Storage
32GB Optane/512 NAND
The OS that I am trying to install is Win 10 Pro from a CD ROM
On an Asus ZenBook i7
**The Optane drive was supplied with the laptop so I know its compatable
Any advice greatly appreciated

Your Optane drive isn't showing because Windows Setup lacks the necessary Intel RST drivers. The EXE file won’t work in this case.
- Download the F6 Intel RST driver (not the EXE) from Intel’s website.
- Extract it to a USB drive and insert it into your laptop.
- During Windows installation, when asked "Where do you want to install Windows? click "Load Driver" and browse for the extracted files.
- If the drive still doesn’t appear, check the BIOS and disable Optane acceleration (if enabled), then try again.
This should allow Windows to detect your Optane SSD.

Another coincidence of a link to an article that just appeared today.
