Hi, Leon
Thanks for the helpful link. But your link means I need to install this software EaseUS for doing this while I read from various websites saying it would be safer to use the official software from SSD manufacturers. So, are there any official solution from Intel or we must use 3rd software to resolve this issue?

I'm using EaseUs software for disk re-partition and/or recovery and maintenance. It is very good and very know software. If you are going the SSD where the Windows is installed, it will erase every think from this this including it self.

Like lw1948, i have also been using a third party software to help me with http://www.aomeitech.com/partition-resource/secure-wipe-ssd-1234.html SSD secure wipe, but the different is that what i use is called aomei partition assistant. I also heard about easeus, it seems that both aomei and easeus are software dealing with disk partitions. yet, i finally choose the free standard edition of aomei.
The reason for why i choose a third party tool is that after rease, i can continue to disk management with the help of it, such as create partition, extend partition, merge partitions, etc.
Willyc, if you do want to wipe intel ssd using official tool, then, you can take off the ssd from its original computer and connect it to a windows 7 machine to do erase.

Hi, Yingteer, thanks for the reply. Just wonder why Intel can only handle this in Windows 7.

Due to compatibility, I think, for nearly all such ssd secure erase tools only support windows 7.

Hi. I used this AOMEI Partition Assistant once. It is free and works amazing. So glad we both like it. I also find another article about its https://www.disk-partition.com/ssd-management/ssd-data-wiping-3889.html SSD data wiping, more detailed information.

Thanks for the feedback. I have installed Amoei and find out that the SSD secure erase function can only operated under Windows 7

I'm running the latest build of Windows 10 Enterprise, v1709.
I used Intel SSD Toolbox 3.4.7 the other day, and it let me run Secure Erase on an Intel 600p SSD. Everything appeared to work via the GUI.
Can I trust this? Or should I assume the drive is not securely erased, since it ran on Windows 10.

Hi bman3,
If it lets you know that is successful you can trust it. Also, you can use Diskpart* commands:
- List disk: Displays the list of attached disks and USB flash drives
- Sel disk (select disk): Selects the scope to work in
- Clean all: Removes partition and volume information from the selected device
