Hello everyone,

I have bought a P5801X, unfortunately I cannot do a firmware update.

My system is an Intel Socket 1700 / 14900K together with Windows 11.

With the Intel MAS GUI Tool Win_2.5 I can also see the P5801X, but I cannot do a firmware update.

So far the version L031FP01 is on it.

Hi Harris_01,

Thank you for reaching out to the Intel support. I acknowledge receipt of your concern and want to assure you that assisting you is my top priority. To effectively troubleshoot the issue you're facing, I require some additional information from your end.

Could you kindly provide the following details?

1. System and board details:

2. You mentioned that you are using Intel® Optane™ SSD DC P5810X, but in the screenshot shared, we see Intel Optane SSD P5800X.

3. Front and back picture of the Optane drive:

4. Kindly confirm if this drive is an Add-on or was it purchased along with the system

5. Any specific reason for updating the firmware?

Furthermore, you may refer to the below article:

Your prompt response with this information will greatly assist me in diagnosing and resolving the issue as quickly as possible.

Hall Simon,

Thank you very much for your support.

No it is an Optane P5810X, in the MAS GUI Tool Win_2.5 it is not read out correctly.

My system is currently an MSI MEG Z790 Ace together with a 14900K.

I am always willing to install the latest firmware to get the best possible performance.

The Optane P5810X was purchased together with an E1.S to PCIe 5.0 riser card.

I also love Optane for private use because the performance is unbeatable.

Hi Harris_01,

Thank you for your patience. We have checked the product serial number and confirmed this SKU corresponds to a OEM SKU, that's the reason why the Intel MAS GUI shows the message "Contact your system vendor for the most current firmware.". OEM SKUs use a custom OEM firmware which cannot be updated using our generic Intel SSD Management tool, our tools can only perform upgrades to generic SKU firmware versions.

The current firmware version of this OEM SKU is probably the latest firmware version. The generic SKU version of the P5801X does not have any firmware upgrade available.

Alternately, kindly let us know how the you got this Optane drive. The OEM SKU was intended for Facebook, and the firmware this unit is using is a specific OEM/Facebook firmware.

Awaiting your response.

Best regards,

Simon

Hello Simon,
Thank you very much for your support.

Of course that explains everything, I wasn't aware that I had bought an OEM product.

I have emailed you with a link from the seller.

Best regards,

Harris

Hello Harris_01,

Greetings!!

Thank you for reaching out. Unfortunately, this product is not covered under Intel’s warranty. As an OEM SKU, it is not eligible for replacement, as we only stock generic SKUs. Additionally, since eBay is not an official Intel retailer, the product does not meet our warranty criteria.

We appreciate your understanding. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.
