I’ve spent hours upon hours trying to find the correct driver.
Windows 11 setup just cannot see ANY .inf files on my USB (the USB itself is fine and visible).
Please help me find the proper driver...
SPECS:
HP OMEN 40L Gaming Desktop (GT21-0xxx).
I believe my system needs the Intel RST VMD controller driver for PCI Device ID 467F, but I can’t find the correct package! Back then, I found the right package — it had these two drivers: Intel RST VMD Managed Controller 09AB and Intel RST VMD Controller 467F. The second one was the one that worked, but I can’t find this package again.
A bit more info:
HP OMEN 40L (GT21-0xxx)
Intel Z690 chipset
Intel Rapid Storage Technology / VMD enabled

No need for any additional driver to install Windows 11. All drivers are included on the installation USB. Reset BIOS to default settings (I.E. the SATA mode set to AHCI). UEFI boot should be enabled. Follow this tutorial for Windows 11 installation.

I followed instructions for installing Windows 11 on my HP OMEN 40L Gaming Desktop!!!
I reset BIOS to default settings, confirmed UEFI boot is enabled, and SATA mode is set to AHCI.
I am using a Windows 11 installation USB created with the Microsoft Media Creation Tool.
During setup, Windows cannot detect any drives, even though the NVMe SSDs are correctly connected and visible in BIOS.
I tried the “Load Driver” option and pointed it to Intel RST drivers downloaded from HP’s support page. The drivers are visible, but Windows fails to install them during setup.
It seems that Windows setup cannot access NVMe drives controlled by Intel VMD without the correct RST driver.
Could you advise on the exact RST driver version and procedure that will allow the installer to see the drives?

Well, probably this is a special case for HP PC. In the tutorial I've given link for it, there is a link to HP support: HP PCs - No drives can be found during Windows 11 or Windows 10 installation.
During creation the installation media, follow the instructions including: Create installation media (USB flash drive, DVD, or ISO file) for another PC.
You will find there a link , for downloading the RST drivers, after inserting PC model and S/N.
Hope this helps.

Hi PaulKI,
Thank you for contacting Intel Support.
As this is an HP system and all components were shipped along with the system, Intel recommends using drivers/firmware provided by the OEM/HP due to custom firmware in place.
If the issue still persists, we recommend contacting HP support. Their expertise will greatly help resolve the issue you are facing.

Simon
