ssd toolbox 3.5.8 optimizer not working for S4510

I have SSD 730 as a C drive, S4510 as a D rive and 760p ad E drive.

In terms of the connection, 730 is disk 1 (boot page file crach dump, prmary), S4510 is Disk 0 (primary) and 760p is Disk 2 (primary).

I get an error of RAID ARRAY for S4510. although I can run quick scan witout any eror message for S4510.

Motherboard is ASUS X99 Pro with the latest firmware and I use AHCI in the BIOS menu, not RAID.

Is there any fix for this?

When I used S4510 as E drive I did not have any problem. I did not check the disk number for that case althogh I believe it was Disk 2.

Is it safe to keep running S4510 as a D drive? I can use it as E and change 760p as D.

Right now, I use C for OS, D for data and E for backup of D. I do not use any backup software now for E. I just copy all the files in D to E.

Hi KWada,

Thank you for posting in the Intel® communities.

The behavior you are describing is indeed weird. I know the optimizer feature has some limitations that are described in the following article: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000006425/memory-and-storage.html

However, you may also consider that according to the Intel® SSD Toolbox Release Notes, the Intel® SSD D3-S4510 Series is not compatible with the tool. This may be the reason why you get this uncommon behavior. You can check the Release Notes here: https://downloadmirror.intel.com/28447/eng/Intel_SSD_Toolbox_3_5_8_Release_Notes_325993-047.pdf

Having said this, if you don’t have issues if the drive is set as the E: unit, then configure it this way, but please keep in mind that the drive will continue being not compatible with the tool, so if you get another issue in the future, this may be the reason.

In general, for Data Center drives, the recommended tool is the Intel® SSD Data Center Tool (DCT) available here: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28460/Intel-SSD-Data-Center-Tool-Intel-SSD-DCT-?v=t, however it doesn’t include the optimizer feature.

I hope you find this information useful.

Have a nice day.
