64 bit OS required for 64bit quartus II

Hi

I am using windows 7 and i want to run quartus in 64 bit .

Do i need a 64 bit OS because i am not able to run Quartus 64 bit in windows 7 32bit OS.

yes.

The 64 bit version allows you to access more than 3GB of ram.
