Active Serial restart after programming

Hi,

I'm using an Altera USB-Blaster to configure my EPCS4 with Active Serial. I have a dual boot Windows / Linux system, both on which I have

installed Quartus II 13.0 Web Edition. Now, in Windows when I program the board automatically restarts, but in Linux I have to unplug

the programmer to run the design, which I find inconvenient.

Any idea what might cause this inconvenience?

Inconsistent software design on Altera's part.

The Linux USB-Blaster support is different under Windows and Linux. In the case of Active Serial programming, the two AS header pins that reset the FPGA (nCE, nCONFIG) get left such that the FPGA is not enabled. Hence the need to unplug the header.

You could write a program to send the USB-Blaster commands needed to assert nCE. Send me an email (forum name) and I'll send you some code that you can hack.

Cheers,

Dave
