Hi,
I wants to load .sof file on DE1 kit with 2C2084F4C7 FPGA. but it gives the following error. "Error: Can't communicate with device. Device will stop functioning when it reaches its non-tethered mode timeout limit." Software generates time limited sof file. I think thats why it creating problem. If it is, how can i get the license of quartus II which allow me to load the .sof file on kit. I doesn't find any serial number starting with 2C35 on kit box or on CD as given on site " https://mysupport.altera.com/lic/devKitSerial.asp?product=cycloneii"Link Copied

this message isn't due to a lack of a Quartus II license, but an IP core that you are using in your design. are you using a Nios II, FIR, etc?

Nios II, except niosII/e ("/e" for economic) since 9.1, needs a license.
If you have an Altera's kit, you have a "serial ID" on the box, you can request nios II license.- Mark as New

I have DE1 kit have 13 numerical number reside on kit. But as per the "Altera Software Subscriptoin Licenses" it is 14 alpha numerical number starting with letter "A".
I confuse to get license. On this site "http://www.altera.com/download/licensing/lic-choose.html" there are so many option to get license like "Get Subscription Licenses","IP megacore function"," NIOS II C2H accelerration complire" etc. In which option i will go to get license and solve my problem of this error.

i don't think your kit includes a license for anything. try changing your Nios II to a /e variant.
